Use of dogs for raffle prizes

It is of great concern to The Irish Kennel that Dogs are being offered as prizes in raffles.

This is totally inappropriate and offers no opportunity to check the suitability of the prospective new owner.

Dogs deserve to be treated with respect and the responsibilities’ of breeders and new owners towards their health and welfare is something that The Irish Kennel Club promotes vigorously.

Our code of ethics forbids any of our members to offer or allow to be offered any dog they own as a raffle prize.

Any of our members found guilty of this will be subject to our disciplinary procedures.
